Tricycle taps Rubasingham
Indhu Rubasingham continues to be hired a.d. from the Tricycle Theater overtaking from Nicolas Kent, who'll leave in May after 28 years in publish. Rubasingham lately commissioned and directed the nine-play cycle "Women, Energy and Politics," and co-directed the specifically commissioned "Afghanistan -- The Truly Amazing Game" in the Tricycle as well as on tour within the U.S., including special perfs in the Government. Various other work there includes "Fabulation" and "Destroyed" by U.S. scribe Lynn Nottage and numerous productions in the Almeida, Royal Court and National theaters. Presently pointing the very first revival of scribe Marie Jones' hit Irish comedy, "Gemstones in the Pockets," in the Tricycle, Rubasingham can also be creating a tuner in the Sundance Theater Lab. In 2012 she'll preem "Belong" by Olivier award-champion Bola Agbaje in the Royal Court. She gets a theater having a worldwide status for that political aspect in its programming. Its show, "Guantanamo: Recognition Certain to Defend Freedom," compiled by Victoria Brittain and Gillian Slovo, moved towards the West Finish and performed special performances within the U.K.'s Houses of Parliament and Washington's Capitol Hill.
